Recycle – be more aware of the rubbish you throw away.
Not a sexy subject i know but one which I think is important, heres some simple ways to help.
Don’t buy newspapers – not only is the news depressing but you hear it half hourly on the radio or on the TV and there is always the internet to catch up with any news.
Be aware of packaging on food you buy – is it necessary, can you buy it without as much packaging?
Donate unwanted items to charity shops, clothes, toys, some take electrical items and furniture or list them on your local freecycle so they help someone else instead of ending up in landfill.
Make do and mend rather than buy new – we have become a throw away society unfortunately and sourcing parts to repair an item can be difficult but the internet is a good place to start.
Keep Xmas cards and birthday cards to make tags from.
See if your local playgroup, school or toddler group want any loo roll, kitchen roll inners, cereal boxes, egg boxes etc for their model making.
Take your own reuseable bags when you go shopping so you don’t need to buy plastic bags.
Help spread the 3Rs – reduce, reuse and recycle
